In the land of Dev Bhoomi, Part 3
Enroute Uttarkashi and Gangotri
While travelling back and forth from Uttarkashi and Gangotri we stopped at Rana ka Dhaba for breakfast and Lunch, Rana ka Dhaba has good food in their menu and I would really recommend their Maggie especially with mint chutney, trust me it is one of the best Maggie I have ever tasted till date.

We still had some spare time in our hands that day at Uttarkashi so we went to Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Uttarkashi. Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple is situated on the banks of Bhagirathi river this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva's Shivling is established in Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple, which is 56 centimetres tall and the direction of Shivling is towards south direction.
Shakti temple is situated in front of Vishwanath temple, which dedicated to Devi Parvati. The main attraction here is a huge and heavy trident - which is about 26 feet in height, which was thrown on the devils by Goddess Durga.

Individual 'ME' time = together 'WE' time
A serene place (#ganga kinare) we enjoyed our 'WE' time.
In between all of this the climate took a U-Turn, it suddenly became dark and we could hear the thunder and immediately after this it started to rain. We decided to run to our hotel before it rained heavily. It was fun running on the highway, everyone driving was looking at us but we didn't care. We reached our hotel had our dinner followed by good sleep before the strenuous 12hrs journey.
During summers sunrise happens to be around 5:15 am so we had planned our journey accordingly, we started at 6.15am enroute we halted at Guptakashi for our lunch and visited Guptakshi Temple.
Guptkashi is situated on the mountain facing Ukhimath town. The name Guptkashi means ‘Hidden Benares’ and the town’s mythological history is associated with the epic Mahabharata. When the Pandavas were searching for a glimpse of Shiva, Shiva first concealed himself in Gupt Kashi but later fled from them further up the valley to Kedarnath.

We could have reached our destination by 7 pm but were delayed as we were stuck in jam for nearly 3hrs, the junction called 'Phata' from this place till 'Sitapur', helipads are available to land directly to Kedarnath or the other way to reach is go walking or hire Khachar or Doli.
Around 8 pm and we were still stuck, our driver asked us to walk down for 1km, where we could get another vehicle for Gaurikund our destination for the day and is also the base point where we were supposed start our yatra of 17km to Kedarnath. We did not want to spoil our time sitting and waiting for the traffic to clear thus we packed our mini sacks for our 2 night stays and got down just at sonprayag parking, we still had to cross Sitapur parking and then catch a vehicle. After walking for some distance we realised it was not 1kilometer for sure we almost walked for 2km and hired a vehicle which is the only source from Sitapur to Gaurikund as no personal vehicle is allowed beyond Sitapur.
Hotel stay at Gaurikund
It was 9.30pm we reached our pre-booked hotel, Remember if you remember I mentioned at the beginning of this episode about the 12hrs journey, it was not just 12hrs it was 15.5hrs by now but we made it to our destination. After such a long day its bliss to get hot water to bathe, we then had our dinner and went off to sleep.
One of the most beautiful and powerful places which is in almost everybody's wishlist is in the next Blog.

Not all the time, metro cities can give you joy...sometimes a pure & natural place can also give you perfect peace as well.
